Beschreibung
I have been involved in the sport of dragon boat racing since 2008, and it is something that I truly love and hope to continue promoting for a very long time. I come from a club who spent many years grinding away every season, trying to compete amongst the nations best, with Canada consistently being one of the top four countries within the sport. Early on, I used to question if I had what it takes to perform with and against the very best our sport has to offer. I believe in staying in the moment, to always stay focused on what you can control. These key points have helped contribute to becoming a world champion, but the most important thing to remember is that I could have never done any of this alone; it truly does take a village to have brought me to levels I use to dream about.
I'm also soon to be a father to my first child, and I hope that one day she can grow up being proud of her father. Knowing that, as a child growing up, I used to constantly doubt myself and feel discouraged as I never felt like I could measure up to anyone no matter what sport I tried. But I knew that, as long as I enjoyed the process and the people around me, I could become just a little bit better every day. Hard work, dedication and focus to what I wanted to do in this sport is what brings me to where I'm at. I love what I do and I hope to continue doing it!
