Bangladesh Wheelchair Sports Foundation® (BWSF) is a non-profitable sports organization that won the 'Joy Bangla Youth Award 2020'. It has started working in the sports sector for the wheelchair users of Bangladesh in 2018. It has got the registration under ‘Office of the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC Bangladesh)’. The main aim and objectives of BWSF are promoting all types of wheelchair sports in one platform in Bangladesh and to assure the development of the wheelchair users (persons whose are differently able) mental growth, livelihood, social prestige, leadership and establish them into the mainstream of the society through the participation in all types of wheelchair sports.

Mission and Vision

The Mission and Vision of the Bangladesh Wheelchair Sports Foundation are as follows:

  • The main goal and purpose of which is to guarantee the participation of all physically challenged female and male athletes and sports enthusiasts wheelchair users of Bangladesh in all types of wheelchair-centered sports and their psychological development through sports, improvement of the quality of life, and to work towards increasing social status and establishing them in the mainstream of society.
  • Consistently include all wheelchair based sports of national and international level in this organization.
  • To present all the sports included in this organization as a means of entertainment and physical exercise to all the physically challenged athletes who use wheelchairs in Bangladesh.
  • Integrate various national-level government, private, and social welfare sports organizations and associations approved by the Government, as well as various internationally recognized sports organizations and associations with the wheelchair based sports included in this organization and cooperate with these organizations for the management, expansion, facility provision, and development of the included wheelchair based sports and all physically challenged wheelchair athletes in Bangladesh.
  • Organizing various workshops, talent exploration, training camps, and wheelchair based competitive sports including seminars at national and international level and also to participate on behalf of Bangladesh in these kinds of programs organized by other national and international sports organizations and associations.
  • By ensuring the participation of all physically challenged wheelchair users, athletes, and sports enthusiasts of Bangladesh in all the above programs, BWSF will develop their sports talent and thinking, create expertise in the workplace and contribute to the development of their standard of living and establish them in the mainstream of society.
  • To make arrangements for recognition and awards at the national and international level for all wheelchair sports athletes and sports enthusiasts of this organization.
  • Arrangement of stadiums and venues for the management of relevant wheelchair based sports, provision of sports equipment to athletes and assist in meeting their basic needs furthermore publish books, magazines, memoirs on related wheelchair based sports, and establish libraries, factories, and labs on related wheelchair based sports.
  • To be involved in various activities undertaken by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and to work jointly.
