The NCAA March Madness is a final tournament which determines the national champion of the college championship in basketball. 68 NCAA teams are currently participating in this tournament. As the name suggests, the tournament is mostly held in March and is one of the major national sporting events in the United States.
The 32-Division I champions are eligible to participate. There are also 36 wild card teams selected by an NCAA committee. In 2011, the NCAA signed an 11-year, $ 10.8 billion contract that governs the tournament's broadcast rights. The contract was renewed for 7 years in 2018 and guarantees an average of $ 891 million per year.
UCLA is the tournament's record holder with 11 titles. This is followed by the University of Kentucky with 8 titles.
